Shakti Kroopkin

Shakti Kroopkin’s creative practice emerges from a fusion of urban and natural influences, harnessing spiritual energy and sound to guide their vision. Rooted in an intuitive process, their work transcends logic, reality, and gravity—balancing the real and imagined. Kroopkin invites viewers into multidimensional spaces exploring transformation, energy in motion, emotion, memory, and free association, allowing these intangible concepts to unfold visually.

The material strategies in Kroopkin’s work act as a conduit to the subconscious, with spontaneous application reflecting the mind’s deeper layers. It often begins with Sumi ink, applied in bold, vulnerable gestures with a bamboo brush, then blown to form fluid, dynamic marks. Shakti etches into the surface of their painting, layering oil paint, oil stick, and graphite, building depth, emotion, and tonal nuance.

Fantastical beings often emerge as guides, leading viewers deeper into imagined realms. These spaces—marked by raw gestures and symbolic forms—reflect the intersection of human experience and the unknown. In channeling chaos into moments of wonder, Kroopkin’s work invites connection with the spaces around us and the curiosity in each of us- while hinting at something beyond the visible world.
